What Has Sherry Davis Been Up To?

November 13, 2018|By Lauren Davis

Sherry Davis is the founder of The Davis Team and was a longtime fixture in the Bethesda community as a top-producing realtor, and of course she’s Lauren’s mom. She retired in early 2017, but there’s never a shortage of local friends and clients who ask about her. So here’s an update from the woman herself, now happily enjoying sunny days in Delray Beach, Florida.

What do you enjoy most about Delray?
Delray is a quaint small town, very approachable in terms of the residents as well as walkability. I live on the barrier island. A block and a half from the ocean and equidistant from Atlantic Avenue, the “main drag.” It’s similar to downtown Bethesda without the traffic.

How are you staying busy?
I am the captain of Palm Beach County women’s tennis team. I have 20 players on my team and sixty personalities! Tennis keeps me busy from October through April. In addition, I take boxing classes weekly (see picture above), volunteer at Arts Garage, and attend classes at FAU.

What trips do you have planned?
I am heading to Cuba in January, Las Vegas to see Aerosmith in April (for one of those milestone birthdays), and Charleston in May.

What do you miss most about being in real estate day to day?
I miss seeing my colleagues, and “doing deals.”

What do you miss most about Bethesda?
What spots, restaurants, etc. I miss downtown Bethesda: Quartermaine Coffee, Amazon book store, Landmark Theatre, the Crescent Trail, and, mostly, my friends and neighbors.

Are you coming out of retirement?
Noooo.
